Will MantelMount fit my TV and wall space?
Great question and glad you're thinking ahead! Check out our quick and easy MantelMount Install Calculator to see if MantelMount will work with the TV and designated wall space you plan on using!
NOTE 1: If NOT mounting your TV above a mantel, simply uncheck the box at the bottom of Step 1 where it says "Will this TV be mounted above a mantel?".
NOTE 2: If your initial measurements do not generate any results, try a smaller TV screen size on Step 1 of the calculator to see if available wall space is the issue.
NOTE 3: If you'd like a better understanding of the measurements and math behind the calculator, please review this document which covers the mounting requirements of all of our mounts.
NOTE 4: The calculator only takes into account standard surface mounting installations. If you're planning on recessing the MM340, MM540, MM700 or MM815 with the RB100 Recess Box, please review this document instead of using the calculator. If you still have questions, simply hit us up at contact@mantelmount.com or at 800-897-9755 x 1. Our team can offer potential suggestions/solutions/workarounds for you as it pertains to a MantelMount installation. Thanks!
What is the average delivery time on your discounted ground shipping?
If you were to take a year round average across all of our orders around the country, you're looking at a 3-5 day delivery *average*. There will absolutely be times where it is sooner or later than 3-5 days.
Things that can impact how soon you receive your MantelMount:
- When you order: Weekday morning orders have the best chance to ship that same day. Monday through Thursday, orders taken after 10am PST typically ship next day. Orders taken after Friday 10am PST or anytime on Saturday/Sunday ship on Monday. We do not ship on Saturdays or Sundays.
- Where you order from: We currently ship from California and Kentucky. Whichever location you're closer to is where your order will ship from as long as both locations have what you ordered.
- What you order: There will be times during the year where one or both of our fulfillment locations are out of stock on a certain SKU. If one location is out, your order will ship from the other location no matter where you're located. In the rare occasion where both locations are out of the same SKU, we make sure the shopper knows prior to ordering, and we typically allow pre-orders to assure your order ships the first day inventory is available.
- Carrier Status: Obviously things can slow up for carriers(UPS/FedEx) around busy holidays or during unforeseen circumstances. Once the carrier picks up your order from our fulfillment location, the rest is in their hands.
If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to reach out at contact@mantelmount.com!
Where can I find a professional installer or dealer?
While many of our customers install MantelMount themselves, you certainly can leave it in the hands of a professional TV installer if you prefer.
OnTech Smart Home Services, a division of Dish Network, now offers nationwide MantelMount installation on the MM340, MM540, MM700 & MM815 mounts! (MAX1 mount and RB100 recess box are not eligible). To learn more about specifics click here.
You also can try our Find a Dealer directory at MantelMountPro.com as well if you need to install an MM720, MM750, or MM860, or want a recessed installation for any of our mounts. Many of these in our portal are registered MantelMount dealers.
PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to use a professional installer it could be their first time installing a MantelMount, but if they follow our install manual step by step, they should certainly be able to complete the installation for you! Please make sure they have the installation manual when their work begins. You can also find them here: INSTALL MANUALS
How will lowering my TV better the viewing experience?
Glad you asked! Not only is watching TV as close to eye-level as possible important for health reasons, but it will also assure you get the best TV performance from a color and clarity standpoint.
Watch this quick video to understand both health and TV picture quality angles.
For the highest quality TV picture, manufacturers suggest the bottom 1/3rd of your TV screen be BELOW eye-level. Viewed from a standard distance, however, the typical height above a fireplace will be well above the manufacturer-suggested viewing height. This causes significant degradation in TV brightness, contrast and color gamut (the accuracy and reproduction of color from a TV screen).
Furthermore, when a TV's mounted too high, there's more at stake than just your picture quality...there's your health. Placing a TV high on the wall moves the image you’re trying to watch well above the recommended eye-level. Craning your neck into an unnatural position for any extended period of time is going to cause discomfort, but doing so for even short periods of time, day after day, can have lasting effects.
By pulling your TV down towards eye-level with MantelMount, you're assured a much finer picture color and clarity, as well as your greatest level of comfort and enjoyment!

What's involved in upgrading from an installed MantelMount(340l540l700) to the MM815 Motorized Mount?
A great move to transition to our push-of-the-button home theater experience!!! If you already own the Original MantelMount(model # TM1A), the MM340 or the MM540, you will require a complete swap as the parts are not interchangeable with the MM815 and the installation math in the clearances are different.
For MM700 owners it's a bit easier. The MM700 and MM815 share the same wall plate and clearances. This means that if you have your MM700 wall plate currently installed, you simply have to remove it from the wall and rotate it 180 degrees and essentially mount it upside down, allowing you to use the same mounting holes that you have already drilled into your wall. In addition, the vertical braces, brace extenders and soundbar attachment are all compatible. You will not have to remove those components from the back of your TV which makes for an easier installation. Regardless of which MantelMount you own, we highly recommend the MM815!
Do you have a customer gallery of install images?
Absolutely! Here is a peak at some of the images we have received from our happy MantelMount customers.

Why do the handles on the MM540, MM700, MAX1 and heat sensor on the MM815 turn red at 110-degrees?
The handles on the MM540, MM700, MAX1 and the sensor on the MM815 come with heat sensitive protection! At 110-degress they turn bright red, letting you know the temperature has become too hot for your TV and that you should bring it to the raised position and/or turn off your fireplace.
NOTE: Please note that we don’t suggest your TV be in the lowered position when your fireplace is turned on.
NOTE: While the MM340 has pull-down handles for your convenience, they are not heat sensitive.
NOTE: While the MM340 has pull-down handles for your convenience, they are not heat sensitive.
What is the patented Auto-Straightening feature?
Consumers who raise their TV from a swiveled position could easily cause a collision between their TV and wall. Not to fear with MantelMount however. Even from a swiveled position, MantelMount automatically straightens the TV when raised so that it never touches your wall. All of our models include Auto-Straightening and it is a patented safety feature of MantelMount®!
What is the patented Auto-Stabilization Feature?
We use enhanced auto-stabilization with our gas springs to ensure that if one spring is stronger than the other over time, it won’t bias the mount. The stronger gas piston will automatically take on more of the force from the TV's weight/motion, thus maintaining a level TV over time. All of our models include Auto-Stabilization and it is an exclusive feature of MantelMount®.
What are the Adjustable Stops?
All of the MantelMount ranges of motion have adjustable stops to prevent any part of the mount from hitting the wall or mantel. The bottom travel stop is adjusted with two screws and locknuts so the TV and mount do not lower all the way into the mantel. The side-to-side swivel stops are also adjusted with two screws and locknuts so that the TV does not swivel into the mantel. All of our models include Adjustable Stops and this is an exclusive feature of MantelMount®.
Why use the MantelMount handles?
Well you don't have to...but it certainly makes lowering and raising your TV a LOT easier! More than that even, it PROTECTS your TV. Modern TVs are getting thinner and more fragile by the day. We include handles on all of our MantelMount models so that the pulling forces are applied directly to the MantelMount itself, instead of pulling on the thin frame of your TV.
What industry awards has MantelMount won?

What makes the MAX1 unique to other MantelMounts?
MAX1 was designed to give you all that a traditional full range motion mount offers, but now add in up to 29 inches vertical travel and several patented features the other full range motion mounts will not offer.
If only comparing MAX1 just to the other MantelMounts we offer, MAX1 has more swivel, vertical travel, outward extension, requires less clearance above anything below it(opening it up to more installation use cases), and is flusher to wall.
Unlike the other MantelMounts, MAX1 has INDEPENDENT horizontal and vertical travel, meaning you can adjust the position of the mount and your TV in far more ways. Want to simply slide the TV down without moving it forward off the wall so that it is as flush to wall as possible? No problem. Want to move it forward off the wall and swivel, without actually lowering the TV? Again, no problem. WIth it's rock solid stability and "stop-anywhere" positioning, you're able to watch your TV at pretty much any height and angle with the MAX1. We're rather excited to bring this new and improved design to the MantelMount lineup!

NOTE: If using the RB100 Recess Box with our horizontal braces, the SBK00 depth adjustment brackets will not work.

This is a simple-to-install MantelMount add-on accessory which allows you to integrate seamlessly into a custom-built wall opening. Easily fitting between standard or custom stud configurations, The RB100 Recess Box provides a super flush TV-to-wall storage by allowing the MantelMount center arm to now fold into the wall when the TV is in the raised position. Please refer to this document for mounting requirements when using the RB100 Recess Box.

NOTE: The MM750 Pro Mount includes an attached recess box and does not require any accessories for recessed flush mounting.
What Is The SSB40 Single Stud Wall Adapter?
Used in conjunction with the MM340 Standard Mount, the MM540 Enhanced Mount and the RB100 Recess Box, the SSB40 serves as a direct replacement for their included wall plate when it can't reach your existing stud placement.
Customers with a single stud centered in the intended mounting area can attach the SSB40 to your MantelMount's lifting arm the same as the wall plate, but the adapter has mounting hole configurations specifically for these single stud installations, as well as installations to large posts or beams (common with outdoor patio installations). The SSB40 is also used in conjunction with the RB100 Recess Box when recessing the MM340 or MM540 Mounts.

What Is The AB40 Horizontal Adapter Bracket?
Most common installations are on a vertical wall, but the AB40 Horizontal Adapter Bracket can serve as a horizontal adapter for the MM340, MM540 and MM700 mounts, providing a 90-degree bridge between their wall plate and the TV mount lifting arm. This allows the wall plate to lay flat on a horizontal surface such as a large shelf or inside a recessed alcove.
Another application for the AB40 Horizontal Adapter Bracket is as a pass-through support for the when mounting the MM340, MM540 and MM700 mounts to thin brick facades or simulated stone panels made from foam, neither of which are strong enough to support the weight of a MantelMount.
To order an AB40 Horizontal Adapter Bracket go here.
NOTE: The AB40 is not intended for use with the MM750 mount.
What is the GS60 Thin TV Gap Spacer?
TVs that are super thin up top, while thicker at the bottom and with very low mounting holes. tend to wobble when positioning your TV to the desired viewing angle. This is common with many OLED TVs, and most notably LG OLED TVs, no matter the TV mount it's paired with. The GS60 Thin TV Gap Spacer stabilizes the back of these super thin TVs by providing the extra upper support needed.
What are the EC43 Cable Routing Boxes?
The MantelMount Cable Routing Boxes are designed to create a hidden reusable channel to route signal cables through the wall behind a MantelMount. These cable boxes thread into standard two-inch conduit and are attached to studs. When new cables are added in the future, they can easily slide through the large conduit, eliminating the hassle of fishing wires through your wall for external device connections. The Cable Boxes rotate at a 45-degree angle so they can accommodate many configurations. The kit includes two cable routing boxes with a cover for each. Watch the product video for further demonstration!
NOTE: Metal Conduit Not Included but can be bought at any hardware store.
Specs: Length 82 mm, Width 60 mm, Height 130 mm
What are the RBE10 Recess Box Extenders?
In an existing wall, sometimes a stud is in the way and needs to be cut to make room for the MantelMount RB100 Recess Box. The remaining studs in the wall might be too far apart for the Horizontal Braces (that come standard with each of our MantelMounts) to reach. Our MantelMount RBE10 Recess Box Extenders easily solve this problem because they reach up to 34 inches to align with the nearest studs in the wall for a very easy install. The covers that are included with the RB100 can still be used to cover the RBE10 Extenders, and painted to match the wall.
To order the RBE10 Recess Box Extenders click here.
What is the SK50 Surface Install Kit?
The SK50 Surface Install Kit offers a more aesthetically pleasing appearance when your installation involves mounting an MM750 Pro Mount onto a wall instead of recessing it within the wall.
The SK50 Kit includes two (2) vanity panels that frame in the flanges for a flush, designer appearance. If surface mounting your MM750 Pro Mount, check out the SK50 Surface Install Kit here.

Wood stud frame installation is standard. The result is concealed mounting hardware and a 1.8 inch flush-to-wall TV storage!
NOTE: If recessing the MM340 or MM540 with the RB100 Recess Box, you will also need to purchase the SSB40 Adapter to have the proper bolt pattern configuration to connect the mount to the box. The MM700 and MM815 integrates directly with the RB100 and does not need the SSB40 adapter for connection.
NOTE: If you're recessing an MM815 Motorized Mount, here is an addendum showing you how to attaching the mounts lifting arm to the RB100 Recess Box.
How do I attach the MM815 Lifting Arm to the RB100 Recess Box?
All you need is to follow the instructions in this addendum right here! :)
Can MantelMount easily be installed into a stone or brick fireplace?
Plenty of our customers do! You can see some examples in our customer gallery. It’s possible to install MantelMount onto stone or brick by using concrete anchors (included in the box) with the Lag Bolts {Part 17}, PROVIDED the brick/stone/wall is structurally sound, several inches thick, and can handle five times the weight of the TV and MantelMount. Working with a concrete/masonry professional for this type of installation is recommended.
NOTE: IF you have a flimsy stone or brick façade, make sure to look at the AB40 Adapter and SSB40 Adapter to assure you have the right accessories for the job.
What about my sound bar?
What is a great home entertainment setup without a well-thought-out audio strategy?!?

Any questions just ask!
You will not have to remove those components from the back of your TV which makes for an easier installation.Regardless of which MantelMount you own, we highly recommend the MM815!
Does MantelMount work with thin brick facades or simulated stone panels?
Yes! Our AB40 Adapter Bracket will serve as a pass-through support when mounting to thin brick facades or simulated stone panels made from foam, neither of which are strong enough to support the weight of a MantelMount.
NOTE: The AB40 will also require the purchase of the SSB40 Single Stud Adapter to provide the correct mounting pattern if mounting a MM340 Standard Mount or the MM540 Enhanced Mount to a horizontal surface or stone/brick facade. The MM700 Premier and MM815 Motorized mounts attach directly to the AB40 Adapter Bracket and does not require the SSB40 adapter.
NOTE: The AB40 is NOT intended for use with the MM750 Pro Mount.
Can MantelMount be mounted horizontally to a flat surface?
Most common installations are on a vertical wall, but our AB40 Horizontal Adapter Bracket can serve as a horizontal adapter, providing a 90-degree bridge between the wall plate and the TV mount lifting arm. This allows the wall plate to lay flat on a horizontal surface such as a large shelf or inside a recessed alcove.
NOTE: The AB40 will also require the purchase of the SSB40 Single Stud Adapter to provide the correct mounting pattern if mounting an MM340 or MM540 Mount to a horizontal surface. The MM700 and MM815 mounts attach directly to the AB40 Horizontal Adapter Bracket and does not require the SSB40 adapter.
NOTE: The MM750 Pro Mount is NOT meant for horizontal mounting.
Will my TV automatically stay in the down position?
Yes! If your MantelMount is installed correctly it will not only stay in the down position but you are able to stop it anywhere along the 24-30 inches of vertical travel path and swivel!
If by chance your MantelMount is not staying in the down position, there is an easy fix. When your TV is not staying in the down position and it is at least 20 lbs for the MM340 and MM540 and 30 lbs for the MM700, then please adjust the long bolt inside the center arm to accommodate the weight of your TV.
For the MM340 this is step 5.1 in the install manual.
For The MM540 this is step 5.1 in the install manual.
For The MM700 this is step 5.3 in the install manual.
For the MAX1 this is step 4.1 in the install manual
When you are adjusting the tension, you want the bolt to be traveling up towards your ceiling (the very top of the bolt is for TVs that are 20-30 lbs and the bottom of the bolt is for 90-125 lb TVs). Once you adjust the long bolt, your TV will now stay in any position!
What if my TV has a center-of-gravity that is not in the center of the set?

Can MantelMount be posted to a large beam or post?
Sure! Compatible with the MM340 Standard Mount and the MM540 Enhanced Mount, the SSB40 Single Stud Wall Adapter serves as a direct replacement for the included wall plate and can attach to our lifting arm the same as the wall plate, allowing for installations to large posts or beams (common with outdoor patio installations).
